Season 2- Episode 9-11 : Chelsea D.

I am beyond excited to introduce ya'll to one of my dearest friends in the world - Chelsea Donaldson!

I met Chelsea in 2014 when we both joined Reign Ministries for their Kairos Discipleship Program - 10 months of leadership training and discipleship.

We also traveled to Honduras and Scotland together during that gap year. It was a lot of life lived together - the good, the bad, and the extremely jet lagged.

We also spent a couple months as roommates - post Kairos.

Episode 9 Chelsea talks about her experiences, where she has gone and what they did there - with a few fun little quips sprinkled in.

Chelsea and I can just gab for hours and before I knew it, our interview was over an hour long. So, I split it into three episodes to keep the episodes short and to honor every second with my guest. I'm not one to edit out good stuff ;)

So be sure to keep coming back over the next three weeks to hear Chelsea's story! And while your waiting for the next episodes, be sure to catch up on any other's you might have missed! This season is chock full of amazing stories!

Here are a couple pictures from our travels together!

Season 2 - Episode 7 - Sally Ferguson

I'm so excited to introduce you all to my wonderful friend! I've known Sally (kind of haha) since I was in Kindergarten! At least, that's when we first were connected. Her daughter was in my class.

When I first moved back to this area, for a could years I had heard of this writing group that Sally hosted. It took awhile but I finally reached out and started joining this small band of local writers. The group has been such an encouragement to me in my writing and in this podcast! I'm so thankful for them and for Sally hosting it!

It was through this group that I learned that Sally was so connected to missions so naturally I had to ask her for an interview.

I'm so glad she did! Her story is so sweet and I love that she's continually traveling.

Her parents were missionaries so she was a child when she first experienced missions overseas. And now, after her children have grown, she still travels with her church. They recently got home from their first trip post-pandemic shutdowns.

You can read all about their recent trip on their blog: https://bustichog.blogspot.com/

I hope you tune in and listen to her story on Episode 7.

Season 2 - Episode 5 & 6 : Bonnie Hurley

I'm really super excited to be introducing you to the next two episodes of Open the Door - Bonnie H! Bonnie's story has always inspired me and encouraged me, even when I didn't know her personally. I'm so happy she agreed to the interview so I can share her amazing story with all of you as well.

When Paul is talking to Timothy in 1 Tim 4:12, he encourages Timothy saying, "Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young." I feel like this applies to Bonnie, but for the opposite. You'll just have to listen to the episode to find out why!

Bonnie's story is exactly why I'm doing this podcast because her experiences in other countries needs to be shared. We as a church need to be reminded that God is still moving in His people around the world.

So stay tuned for Sunday the 6th and 13th for her two part interview!

Listen to the episode to hear the whole list!

Her experiences with missions has opened her up to the new world views and cultures and global issues like human trafficking.

I hope her story inspires you and encourages you with your walk with God! Listen on Spotify, Anchor, Google, or Apple!

I'd love to connect! Reach out and let me know what you thought of the episode!

I'm so excited to introduce you to my next guest speaker, my dear friend Jessica Crawford!

I've known Jessica for a couple years now. We bonded first through our singleness and navigating that season but also that we had both been to Nepal and on mission trips. Listen in to her story and how God called her to missions and where she has been and the cool opportunities that she has had!

Season 2 - Episode 1&2 : Rhea M.

Welcome back to Open the Door Podcast! I'm so excited to get Season 2 underway! And we are kicking it off with one of my dearest friends, Rhea!

Rhea and I have been friends since we were little girls in elementary school. God was so good by reconnecting us after years of separation - God knows who you need and when ;)

It has been especially awesome to follow her story over the last few years as God has used her in mighty ways through leading worship at her church and then moving on to CA to attend Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry.

She's been connected to missions since she was little and I loved hearing her story.

But that's a "problem" when you interview your friends - you TALK TALK TALK. LOL

So I split her interview into two parts which are both now available!

Season 2 is almost here!

Hello! And welcome back to Open The Door podcast!

Season two is about to kick off and already we are on a roll with guest speakers! I am so excited to share this next season with ya’ll and introduce you to some amazing friends of mine, some from my early childhood and some I only met in the last couple years.

All have amazing stories with missions and how they got started and what it was like for them.

I have some big dreams for this podcast. Things I’d love to see it accomplish and grow into.

Mostly, I hope that it encourages you and reminds you that God is moving and active in missions, whether that’s foreign or local.

God’s heart for missions is still the same. He’s still asking us to go into all the world and teach and preach the gospel.

And I know that that can be overwhelming. I can easily get overwhelmed when I think of how I want to serve in missions. There are so many options. So many pathways to choose.

I hope this podcast can be a platform for you to learn more about missions and the different types of mission trips that are available. I hope it encourages you. If you feel like nothing is happening and God’s not working, I hope this podcast gives you hope that that is just not the case. God is still moving and active and healing this world.

I hope that this can be a place to connect those currently on the field or preparing for the field with people who want to support missionaries and ministries but haven’t know where to start.

I hope this season opens the door between you and missions. I hope you enjoy the stories we share. I hope you laugh with us and mourn with us. For we all know how great this life can be but there’s also so much devastation and pain in this world and we can’t ignore that either.
